Bishop’s Castle Is Open is being put together by a small group of local people who care about the town and want to see it thrive. Some of us are working full-time, some are retired, and everyone is giving their time and skills to help make it happen.
 

The group includes Bex Hunter of The Castle Hotel, Deb Alma of the Poetry Pharmacy, Sue Wilmer at the Town Hall,  Liz Still from SpArC, and Geraint Davies, with Brenda Woolf helping to keep us all on track with the administration, and Claire Howe building our website.
 

There’s no big organisation behind it. It’s a grassroots, collaborative project, made possible by people offering their time, ideas, spaces and practical help, and by landlords willing to open doors that would otherwise remain closed.
 

This September was our first go at it. We had a lively few days that helped us discover what might be possible in Bishop’s Castle.
