THE POETRY PHARMACY
The Poetry Pharmacy is a bookshop, coffee shop and creative project prescribing poems as remedies for the emotional ailments of everyday life.
Founded by poet Deborah Alma, it offers carefully chosen books arranged by emotional need, alongside its signature bottles of tiny, hand-rolled poems, including Poemcetamol, First Aid, Comfort, Courage and Joy.
On Sunday 5th, drop in for a one-to-one consultation with a Poetry Pharmacist, who will listen to what’s troubling you and prescribe a poem to take away. No appointment necessary. Charges apply.
YARBOROUGH HOUSE
Yarborough House sells secondhand books - a large range of fiction and non-fiction. It also has one of the largest stocks of secondhand classical CDs in the country, plus a wide variety of greeting cards.
The café serves teas, filter coffees, cappuccinos, lattes and a range of home made cakes throughout the day.
THE GIVING TREE
A beautiful, unusual and eclectic selection of gifts and greetings cards, with an emphasis on products that are eco, environmentally friendly, Fair Trade, sustainably sourced, natural and handcrafted. Gallery featuring local artworks, crafts and jewellery. Find us at the top of The Cobbles, tucked in the corner between The Town Hall and The House On Crutches Museum.
Open : 10.30 to 16.30 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
